Top 100 World's Best Restaurant

The Times (London) has published their 2009 edition of the 100 Best Eating Establishments in the World. Have you been to any of those?

I have planned to visit the #1 restaurant of the world, El Bulli, but i wonder, when will this plan put into action. The dishes may look funny to some, but this may be the best dining experience ever. It's a combination of food, art and science - we called this Molecular Gastronomy. They have gone to such an extent that even the cutlery have been well taken care of.

El Bulli's own set of cutlery

#17 Tetsuya’s is voted the best restaurant in Sydney and in Australia. It's a big house, located in the midst of high rise buildings. You wouldn't have thought that this is a restaurant. I have been staying in Sydney for 5 solid years. I have heard of it, I have walked passed it, but I have never tried it. It's a pity though... but I will not miss it again if I ever land my foot in Sydney once more.

Besides #17 Tetsuya’s, Australia has another 2 awesome restaurants in the honored roll and they are both situated in Sydney as well. They are #46 Quay and #94 Pier. My friend and I went to search for the cookbook by Pier at Borders (Wheelock Place) a few weeks ago. We searched high and low but it just couldn't be found. Nevertheless, we managed to find it the next morning at Borders (Parkway Parade). It's a very good book.

#45 Iggy’s is the only restaurant in Singapore to squeeze into the Top 50. Hurray!! Following very closely is the, second Singapore Restaurant in the list, #60 Les Amis. I will definitely give them a try one day.

Unique Birthday Cakes

To celebrate the born of the "Yummy Estate", besides singing a Happy Birthday song, I think we need a birthday cake. Can you please decide for me which is good?

1. Cakerific.Blogspot.Com

Wouldn't bear to eat it.
Wouldn't even bear to cut it.
Wouldn't bear just to look at it.
Heck! Just eat it!!

A smashing design!!
Remember all the cakes smashing parties? You should be quite safe from being smashed by this.

This is for the Transformers lovers.

Optimus Prime:"No.... If you love me, pleassse don't eat me".

This was probably designed by a female. Knowing that her boyfriend was a soccer fanatic, but still she wants to convey a message:"Hey, Soccer kills!!"
Soccer Fanatic:"Yeah! Yeah!! True..I know... it kills my time!"

Cute!! Looks like a sponge cushion to me.

No time for thinking...

The rubik cube which can never be solved.

Would you prefer a blackberry.....

......or an iPhone?

Well, I think both should taste the same.

Hey Optimus Prime, wake up!! We are gonna eat you up.

Sweet!!

Get this for your friend's birthday, and I believe she will jump as high as Mario.
Let's forget about saving the princess, what interests me most is how to eat her up?

One of my favourite games during my childhood.
If only I could just chuck them into my mouth when I was tired of playing, it could have saved a lot of time for clearing the mess.

Love the game? Be in the game... be a Pac-Man and eat away all the ghosts and power pellets. Unfortunately, you won't hit a high score, but probably, you'd hit a high cholesterol.

A very interesting and creative idea. This is what we called a chocolate cake.
(Recipe: Kit Kats, Hershey's, Crunch, Reese's, etc. Put in the oven to bake for 30mins with temperature set at 25°C.)

Being a baker alone, you can never make these cakes. You need to be an artist, a designer or maybe a kid. Do you know of any such bakers out there?
